Taking time

Why send this today and not tomorrow, because all that will be on my mind tomorrow will be Karen Whyman and her 40th birthday.

It seems surreal that tomorrow Karen would have been celebrating such a momentous birthday and in true Karen style there would have been stunning boutique accommodation, more than just a little cheese and matching wine, and just us, oh to what should have been.

Happy 40th Karen, I hope where ever you are and what ever you are doing you too will be celebrating your 40th in style as Eva and I will be.

An update

Wow, it seems what we are doing interests someone at least, we haven't become celebrities but follow the link for an article done on us by the Dominion paper, very touched.  In addtion there is an article being done for Oh Baby magazine and another reporter is coming for a couple of days to hang out and write our story, hopefully if nothing else sharing our ups and downs will inspire others in our situation and give them a little hope.

We are now at Kawau heading back north via the Great Barrier, as long as mother nature cooperates we should have some great sailing and having added to the crew with dad joining us for a couple of weeks we hope to explore a few places we normally wouldn't as well as have more than a few fish for the dinner table.

Now can you help me, if you or you know of anyone keen on crewing with us from NZ in late April going to and cruising the pacific islands until mid November then email me, I would prefer someone who wants to spend the whole time but part would be ok, not to worried on where we go so can be really flexible so it works for all, even happy to go across to Australia as well, so please feel free to pass on my details to anyone that seems interested and you think would work with Eva and I, email address david.whyman@hotmail.com

Taking Eva to the big smoke

A week in Auckland, wow it been a while and as much as I think Auckland is a great city I am very much aware that I am not a city person anymore, it has been great to see friends and we have had a really special time but I look forward to Jo arriving from Sydney and getting out on the Briney.

We are back in Auckland briefly on Sunday and Monday and then dad is joining us for some time at the Barrier before heading back North, Eva has loved seeing the sights and we have yet to see the zoo but that maybe a car trip next month.

Amazingly I actually went on a date as well, yes someone was actually willing and we have even followed up with dinner, she is a very cool lady and it was great to hang out with someone who shares 
so many of the same wants needs and as a bonus seems to think I am ok.

Eva makes me so proud each and every day, she truly is a miracle and I have so often said I wouldn't do this again but yes I actually would.
